The flat fees listed above are ONLY applicable to consumer debt collection cases filed against individuals in Magistrate Court in the following Georgia counties: Fulton County, DeKalb County, Gwinnett County, and Cobb County (call us for the flat fee rate for a different county).
The flat fee rates listed above DO NOT APPLY to the following types of cases:
- Debt collection cases for business debt;
- Debt collection cases filed in State or Superior Court;
- Debt collection cases filed in a county that is not listed above.
Are there any hidden costs?
There are no hidden costs. The flat fee includes all filing fees, costs, and expenses incurred in defending the lawsuit. However, if your case is appealed, that creates a new case which would not be covered under the flat fee.
What do I get with the flat fee?
You get a complete defense to the debt collection lawsuit. We will do everything necessary to fight or settle your case. We will show up at all court hearings and mediations. We will file all necessary paperwork with the court, including the answer to the lawsuit. We will receive all notices from the court and the other side, and we will communicate with the plaintiff’s attorneys so you don’t have to.
We will even take your case all the way to trial if necessary.
How successful are you in defending debt collection cases?
It is important to understand that we DO NOT offer any guarantee of success when defending your case. We cannot and will not promise that we will win the case or that we will able to negotiate any particular amount in a settlement agreement. That would be unethical and misleading. There are many things are entirely out of our control when litigating a debt collection case.
However, the majority of the cases that we take on are dismissed or settled. A few are fought to the end – which means a trial. We are prepared to take your case to trial for the very same flat fees mentioned above.
How much does it cost to hire a lawyer for a credit card lawsuit?
The answer to how much does it cost for an attorney in a credit card lawsuit depends on a number of factors, including where the lawsuit was filed, the amount of the debt claimed, and who the plaintiff is that filed the lawsuit.
Some attorneys will take your case on a flat fee basis, like the Parisi Law Firm. Other attorneys prefer to work on an hourly rate basis. Attorneys who work on an hourly basis can vary widely in the amount they charge per hour.
Sometimes, can even have great counterclaims to the lawsuit, and you can win money from the other side.
You may want to check with a few different law firms to make sure you find an attorney that you can afford and who you can trust.
How much is an attorney for a debt collection lawsuit?
